Barbara Hill

Born: Great Bend, Kansas Lived In: Claflin, Kansas I lived on my Grandparents farm in northern Kansas near Blue Rapids, Kansas and for a short time Oakley & Elkhart, Kansas. Then from 6th grade on through high school I lived in Greensburg, Kansas. Barbara Luebke Hill grew up in rural Kansas and her love of the outdoors, nature and animals carries over into her paintings, both in feeling and subject matter. She brings a breath of fresh, country air to her beautiful paintings. "My goals in painting are to portray to the viewer those special moments in an animal's life – the time, the color and light, the feeling I have for it – then express that feeling in a creative, painterly way."

Barbara has exhibited in many one man and group exhibitions, winning numerous awards and has served as juror for various shows. Her paintings are shown in outstanding galleries throughout the west including the K Newby Gallery and Sculpture Garden. She is represented in private and corporate collections across the country. Her book, PAINTING DOMESTIC ANIMALS, is published by North Light Books. Education: Graduate of Colorado State University Additional studies at Diablo Valley College in California Exhibitions: American Watercolor Society Annual California Exposition Art Show Society of Western Artists, De Young Museum, San Francisco National Academy of Western Art.
