Kit Fox: My inspiration for this sculpture comes from its dual personality. A fox is both tricky and cunning, yet resourceful and helpful. In pre-Christian Times the fox was seen as a symbol of gods: for example, as a symbol of the god of vegetation, of forest or of mountain-spirits. He is also a famous figure in fables where he often tricks other animals to get food. At the same time, in fairy tales the fox is said to be the most helpful of all the animals. This fox sculpture is stretching, observing, and happily awaiting an opportunity for mischief.
