Meet world-renowned artist Nicholas Wilson and view an artist demonstration live in the gallery from 1 PM - 4 PM on Saturday, March 4th.

Nicholas Wilson

A strong interest in nature at eight years of age led to Wilson's development as a nationally recognized artist today. As Curator of Exhibits at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum in the early '70s, his abilities, and sensitivities were further enhanced. Wilson's artwork is in private and corporate collections across the United States. His work has been exhibited in museums in the states and abroad -- Smithsonian, National Geographic Society, London Museum of Natural History, and the Scotland Museum of Natural History. He is also published in various magazines and books. Wilson is a self-taught artist and has lived in Arizona for 33 years. "Nick Wilson has the rarest qualities of being in complete harmony with his subject matter. The intensity and depth of his study and concern for wildlife are inescapable for him and is as well for those who appreciate his artistic efforts. He has evolved a style of work that allows him to convey the most subtle and delicate of the Southwest's boundless natural wildlife. His total commitment is as coyote to desert-one." --Paul A. Rossi, Artist & former Director, Gilcrease Institute of American History & Art
