James G Moore
This piece depicts a red fox on a winter hunt. The bell is in the form of a full moon and has a squirrel curled up in a nest in low relief. The stand has textures that represent a cross section of a geologic history. We have a lot of foxes running around where we live. They have of course taken advantage of the abundance of free chickens. They are an amazing and beautiful animal that seems to really enjoy the hunt. Watching them grab mice and pocket gophers out of the tall grass or snow is awesome. It reminds me to enjoy the small tidbits. The unofficial title of this piece is “midnight snack”.
