Arizona Native - Native Copper & Canyon Live Oak

Larry Martin-Sculpture artist. I was born and raised in rural Western Oregon. After graduating from high school, I attended Southern Oregon College for one year before enlisting in the U. S. Navy. I served as a Seabee electrician for 5 years before returning to Oregon where, with my wife, we raised our two sons. I retired after a career as a power lineman for a major utility in the Northwest.

In 2007, my wife and I built a new home in Rio Rico, Arizona. I then built a small studio and indulged myself creating sculptures by combining the natural beauty of gemstones and unique pieces of native wood. I had always enjoyed woodworking, and have always marveled at the different gemstones there are in this world, so the artist in me set to displaying Mother Nature's work in composite sculpture. I have sculptures on display at K Newby Gallery & Sculpture Garden in Tubac, and at my residence in Rio Rico, AZ. I have also exhibited my work at the Tubac Center of the Arts in Tubac, AZ, and at the Hilltop Gallery in Nogales, AZ.
